Meet the CWEALF Team: Attorney Rudy Moreno

CWEALF's team includes more than just the full time staff. Our board members, community partners, Cooperating Attorneys, donors, interns and volunteers make our work to empower women, girls and their families to achieve equal opportunities in their personal and professional lives possible. Attorney Rudy Moreno has been a CWEALF Cooperating Attorney and a donor for years.  We’re grateful to Rudy and all our Cooperating Attorneys for the critical role they play in CWEALF’s Legal Education Program.

What’s the first thing you do in the morning?

The first thing I do in the morning is go right for the coffee machine – obviously! Once I have that first cup in my hand, I’ll take some time to myself and read the morning paper usually the Hartford Courant. It’s usually around the time I finish reading when our youngest daughter, Madison age 2, wakes up and our home goes from quiet and peaceful to all-out craziness.

How did you first get involved with CWEALF’s Cooperating Attorney Network?

A few years ago I met the former Executive Director, Alice Pritchard, at a networking event and we spoke about what she did and what CWEALF was. Honestly, I had no idea what CWEALF was until that day. After speaking with Alice about CWEALF, she told me about the Cooperating Attorney Network and how the network makes a difference to some of CWEALF’s clients in need of legal assistance. I joined C.A.N. and have not looked back since.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining the Cooperating Attorney Network?

JOIN!!! It’s one of the most rewarding networks you can be a part of. There is no other network that will allow you to meet people from all walks of life AND possibly help them with their legal issues.

What’s your idea of the perfect day off?

Waking up to spend the day with my wife Melissa and our daughters Amber and Madison would be my perfect day. No matter what we do, whether being lazy at the house watching movies, spending an afternoon at the park, or going on some exotic vacation, as long as my girls are with me, it’ll always be a perfect day for me.
