CWEALF 2008 - 2009 Annual Report
A message from the Director:
The 2008-2009 fiscal year provided CWEALF with some unique opportunities to strengthen the infrastructure that makes our work possible.
At the start of the fiscal year, CWEALF unveiled its new logo, an image you are now probably well acquainted with. Over the next several months, CWEALF worked closely with graphic designers to create more accessible and informative promotional and educational materials. This process culminated with the launch for CWEALF’s new website, and a micro-site for CWEALF’s newest program G2O: Generating Girls Opportunities. CWEALF’s new website was made possible by a generous grant from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving’s Non-Profit Support Program.
The start of 2009 brought CWEALF’s first ever Ruth Pulda and Merilee Milstein interns. CWEALF is proud to have expanded its internship program to include two paid positions. Over the years, CWEALF has seen a growing interest in our internship opportunities. The Pulda and Milstein Internships have helped CWEALF attract a diverse range of people to our work. We will continue to raise funds for these internships through our “Women at Work” annual event.
The end of the 2009 fiscal year brought a big change for CWEALF. On June 1st, we opened our door at 75 Charter Oak Avenue. The new space is accessible, inviting, and equipped to meet the needs of CWEALF’s clients and staff.
With these changes, CWEALF is better prepared to support women and girls in Connecticut in the effort for full equality. This report showcases CWEALF’s efforts and initiatives over the past year to provide women and girls with the opportunities and resources they need to create a better future for themselves and their families.
